Mountain Central Vac installs and repairs central vacuum systems in Sandy, South Jordan, Draper, and the south end of the Salt Lake Valley. We’ve been serving Sandy-area homeowners since 1990. It’s one of our core service areas — close to our North Salt Lake base and home to a lot of the larger, newer homes where central vacuum systems make the most sense.
Sandy has a wide mix of housing — established neighborhoods from the 1970s and 80s closer to the canyon mouths, and newer, larger homes in the Alta Canyon and Dimple Dell areas. South Jordan and Draper have seen tremendous growth, with large two-story homes that are almost purpose-built for central vacuum: multiple levels, finished basements, open floor plans that benefit from whole-home cleaning without hauling a portable machine up and down stairs.
We plan every installation around your home’s specific layout. For a two-story home with a finished basement, that typically means six to eight inlets — one per major area — with the power unit in the garage. We route tubing through interior walls and the garage ceiling with minimal patching. You get a written quote after the walkthrough, before we start.
Retrofit and new construction both handled. If you’re building in the Draper or South Jordan area, central vacuum is worth adding during framing — it’s a fraction of the retrofit cost and avoids all the wall work.

We repair all brands for Sandy-area homeowners — Beam, NuTone, Vacumaid, Eureka, ACV, CycloVac, and others. Lost suction is the most common call, and we diagnose it the same way every time: check the motor, check for blockages in the tubing, check the inlet valves. Most issues are straightforward and fixed in one visit. We carry parts for all major brands in the truck.
Sandy and Draper homes often have central vacuums that came with the house from a builder — sometimes a brand the new owner has never heard of. We service all of them.

We serve Sandy, South Jordan, Draper, Riverton, Herriman, Bluffdale, Midvale, Murray, Cottonwood Heights, and surrounding south Salt Lake Valley communities.
For a typical two-story with a finished basement in the 3,000–4,000 sq ft range, plan on seven to nine inlets — one per bedroom, one per main living area, one for the basement. The exact number depends on your floor plan. We figure this out during the walkthrough so every room is covered without over-installing.
Yes. The garage is the most common location because it’s easy to exhaust through the wall and the noise doesn’t bother anyone. But utility rooms, mechanical rooms, and unfinished basement spaces all work. The main requirements are a 120V outlet and somewhere to run the exhaust.
One day for most single-story or two-story homes in the 2,000–3,500 sq ft range. Larger homes or those with complicated layouts — vaulted ceilings, multiple wings — sometimes take two days. We’ll give you a firm estimate after seeing the house.
