Replacement Filter (Generic)

Description

This generic replacement foam filter is a direct-fit solution for Electrolux, Centralux, and Areus central vacuum power units. If your central vacuum is losing suction or blowing fine dust back into your utility room, a clogged or deteriorated foam filter is often the cause.

Compatibility: Fits Electrolux, Centralux, and Areus central vacuum models that use a foam filter.

Foam Filter vs. Bag Filter Systems

Electrolux and related systems use a foam filter as the primary filtration barrier inside the power unit. Unlike paper bag filters, foam filters can be rinsed and reused — but once the foam begins to crumble, lose its shape, or develops tears, it must be replaced. A deteriorating foam filter allows fine dust to pass through to the motor, causing premature wear.

How Often to Replace: Inspect your foam filter every 6 months. Rinse gently in warm water, allow to dry completely (at least 24 hours) before reinstalling. Replace when the foam shows crumbling, tears, or permanent discoloration that rinsing won’t remove.

Installation Tip: Never reinstall a damp foam filter — moisture trapped in the motor housing can cause mold growth and accelerate motor damage.
