Description
The plaster guard is a protective ring used during drywall and plaster installation to protect the central vacuum outlet box opening from being filled or damaged during drywalling, mudding, and finishing. It’s an essential installation accessory for new construction where inlet valves are rough-in before the walls are finished.
How It’s Used:
During rough-in, the outlet box is installed in the wall and the inlet valve is not yet mounted. The plaster guard fits into the outlet box opening and protects it while drywall is hung and mudded around it. When the wall is finished, the plaster guard is removed and the inlet valve is installed — revealing a clean, ready-to-use outlet box with no debris inside.
